The mono-majority that consists of Servant of the People party MPs is failing. Within one year, there are only 211 MPs who actively vote to pass laws, whereas it takes 226 votes to pass. It means that, without the support of other factions and groups in the Ukrainian Parliament, the mono-majority is, in fact, impotent. Press office of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine reported that.
"In actuality, Servant of the People is incapable of passing laws on its own", Chairman of the Committee Oleksiy Koshel said.
It appears that MPs from Servant of the People who enjoy the rights of coalition in the current convocation provided the necessary amount of votes only in 16 percent of cases, when the laws were passed. Thus, 226 or more MPs from the mono-majority voted for 37 out of 230 laws. All other laws would not be passed without the support of other factions and groups of the Ukrainian Parliament. At that, most of the draft laws were initiated by the pro-presidential political force itself, or President, or the government.
"Low efficiency of the work of mono-majority are due not only to the overall low level of attendance pf the session hall because of coronavirus. In fact, during every voting, there's more than a dozen of MPs who either don't vote at all or press "Abstained" or "Contra". So it is, above all, the matter of the domestic faction discipline and political fracture inside the political force", Koshel said.
