The Moldovan Parliament voted in favor of a bill that would establish the status of the Russian language as the language of interethnic communication. This was reported by Interfax.
"The language of oral and written communication in relations with public authorities, as well as with enterprises and organizations located in Moldova, is the state language and/or Russian as the language of interethnic communication based on the citizen's choice," reads the message.
The new law requires that all names of goods and services that are produced in the country, all the medicines that are available for sale, as well as signs of state and public institutions, are translated into Russian.
