The Coordination Council for TV- and Radio-broadcasting (CCTR) of the Republic of Moldova fined the TV channel 'RTR-Moldova' for the non-observance of the law on the fight against the foreign propaganda as Realitatea.md reported.
'The CCTR held the monitoring of the TV channel for a few days and got to know that it broadcasted the same footages as TV channel 'Russia 1'. Moreover, the introductions to some footages were also the same in some cases. They were broadcasted in the local news and took from 28% up to 41$ of the whole newscast', the message said.
The session of the CCTR made a decision to fine the TV channel for about $3, 000 and to increase the fine in the case of the repeated violation.
Evgeny Sergeev, the Director of 'RTR-Moldova' claimed that he does not agree with the decision of the council.
The law that bans the re-broadcasting of the Russian news was signed in Moldova on January 10, 2018. The speaker of the parliament signed it instead of Igor Dodon, the President of the country.
