The ACUM opposition bloc in Moldova demands the resignation of Defense Minister Viktor Gaychuk in connection with his praise of Donbas militants. This was reported by Moldavskiye Vedomosti portal.
"... a few days after the approval of Ion Kiku government, a public record appeared in which the minister puts the fighting spirit of the separatist and unconstitutional forces of Donbas as an example of the Moldovan army," said Vice Speaker Mahai Popshoi, who introduced the draft resolution on Gaychuk resignation on behalf of the ACUM faction.
Popshoi recalled that the legitimate government of Ukraine qualifies the separatists of Donbas as war criminals. The MP also emphasized that Ukraine is a strategic partner of Moldova, and the public support of mercenaries and separatists fighting in Donbas is a serious insult to this country and its people.
Earlier Ukraine and Romania discussed priority areas of military cooperation between states in Bucharest. This became known after the meeting of the Armed Forces lieutenant-general Ruslan Khomchak with the Minister of Defense of Romania Nicolae-Ionela Ciuke and the Chief of the Romanian Armed Forces General Staff, Lieutenant-General Daniel Petrescu, the Armed Forces General Staff reported on Facebook.
"During official meetings, topical issues to continue the strategic dialogue on the situation in the Black Sea region were discussed," the statement said.
Representatives of two countries also exchanged experience on reforming and developing the armed forces.
