The EU External Action Sercive cited a conversation with Federica Mogherini and Minister for foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin, who discussed the worsening tensions between Ukraine and the Russian Federation in Crimea.
‘The European Union condemns and does not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol by the Russian Federation. We continue to be steadfast in our support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. Any action that may lead to further escalation of the conflict should be avoided by all parties; a peaceful resolution of the conflict is the only possible solution. This applies to Eastern Ukraine, where we urge all parties to participate in the completion of the implementation of the Minsk agreements’, Federica Mogherini said in a statement released by the External service of the European Union.
