Restoring good relations with Russia is tightly related to solving conflict in eastern Ukraine. Federica Mogherini, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, said this in her interview with Interfax news agency.
The leader of the EU diplomatic corps visits Russia on April 24, in the context of negotiations on solution to Donbas conflict.
‘All sides should play their part in full compliance with Minsk agreements. More political will is necessary for first steps, which are adhering to the ceasefire and withdrawing heavy weaponry to improve the security situation,’ the EU official said as quoted.
The key EU diplomat called for a decent investigation into the tragic accident, which took place on April 23, when an OSCE SMM observer deceased due to a landmine explosion. ‘It’s another life, many of which this conflict already claimed’, Mogherini said.
