As a result of the introduction of the weekend quarantine, the level of population mobility in Ukraine has fallen to its lowest since this spring. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmygal during a government meeting.
"We have restrictions for the cities in the orange zone and the "weekend" quarantine. We will be able to assess the final effectiveness and results of such a model in early December, but we already see a decrease in the level of population mobility. According to the data provided by mobile carriers, this level has fallen to its lowest since the total lockdown that was imposed this spring. Less mobility of people means a reduction in the probability of getting infected with Covid-19, which will consequently break the chain of the disease," said the PM.
As we reported earlier, the European Union plans to hold the first vaccinations against coronavirus by the end of December.
“The European Commission by now has secured contracts with six companies. The first European citizens might already be vaccinated before the end of December…Member States have to prepare the logistics for the eventual deployment of hundreds of millions of doses,” the statement said.
