Missiles fired from Gaza Strip, Israel lands airstrike on Hamas positions

Militants in the Gaza Strip fired missiles on Israeli territory. One of them was intercepted by the Iron Dome, the anti-missile defense system. In return, Israeli air force deployed an air strike, hitting positions of Hamas movement. Press service of the Israeli army reported that on Friday.

"In response to the 2 rockets that were fired from Gaza at Israel earlier tonight, our Air Force just struck Hamas military targets in Gaza. Hamas will bear the consequences for terror activity against Israeli civilians", reads the message.

Another case of the missile attack was observed on October 20, when Palestinian rocket was downed by the Iron Dome. The attack took place hours after Israeli military discovered a tunnel leading from Gaza to the Israeli territory. 

Hamas is the Palestinian Islamist movement, ruling in the Gaza Strip. The movement is considered terrorist organization in Israel, Canada, U.S., EU and Japan.
