The bandwidth of the mobile Internet has been reduced by order of the authorized state bodies in Minsk. This was reported by the press service of the Belarusian A1 telecom operator on Twitter.
"By order of the authorized state bodies on the territory of Minsk, the bandwidth of the mobile Internet has been reduced. Fulfillment of the requirement leads to a deterioration in the quality of the data transmission service or temporary unavailability of the service," the message says.
The company also noted that the restoration of correct access will be reported as soon as possible.
Today a mass protest action is taking place in Minsk. According to media reports, about 200,000 people came to the city center. As of 4 pm, the security forces detained 125 people. Also, the residence of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko was cordoned off by armored personnel carriers and special equipment.
The Presidents of the Russian Federation and Belarus, Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko, agreed to meet in Moscow in the coming weeks. The presidents agreed on this during today's telephone conversation, as the Kremlin website reports.
“Mutual disposition to further strengthen the Russian-Belarusian alliance and expand mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas has been confirmed. It was agreed to hold a meeting in Moscow in the coming weeks,” the message says.
As noted, Putin also "warmly congratulated" Lukashenko on his birthday. Today he is 66 years old.
