The Minsk process should be returned to the constructive course. This was stated by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
"We still need to act decisively to bring the Minsk process back to a constructive course, I want to stress once again that we do not see any alternative to Minsk agreements and insist on their full implementation," the president said.
Poroshenko said that at the meeting with Merkel its significant part will be devoted to improving the effectiveness of the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
"What should we do to ensure that the peace would finally comes to the East, that requirements for the ceasefire regimewould be fulfilled, the removal of heavy equipment and artillery, the release of Ukrainian hostages and the implementation of the entire security package, as envisaged by the Minsk agreements, as a prerequisite for political process, would be done" he added.
We recall that today Poroshenko arrived in Berlin to meet with Merkel.
Poroshenko will also visit the memorial complex Sachsenhausen concentration camp and honor the memory of the victims of Nazism. He will also meet with former NATO Secretary General Anders Rasmussen.
