Parties to the Minsk talks group could not come to terms regarding the Easter ceasefire. Iryna Gerashchenko, the representative of Ukraine in this group posted that on Facebook.

'The Skype conference of the Trilateral Contact Group and the security subgroup, where we discussed the initiative of Easter ceasefire. The talks have just finished. No deal', she wrote.

Gerashchenko reported that Russia refused to support Ukraine's initiative to announce the ceasefire for the holiday, denying to accept the responsibility for silence in Donbas. She added that Russian envoy Boris Gryzlov never showed up, and there was another diplomat instead of him.

According to Gerashchenko, Russia categorically refused to take upon itself any commitments in terms of safety guarantees, once again repeating the typical statements about the 'civilian war and internal conflict' and 'the necessity of direct dialogue with Donetsk and Luhansk regions'.
