First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Oleksiy Lyubchenko and US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo signed a memorandum of understanding regarding commercial cooperation. This happened during the visit of the Ukrainian delegation led by President Volodymyr Zelensky to the United States, according to the press service of the head of state.
The purpose of the document is to strengthen commercial ties between countries by encouraging the commercial participation of American companies in the Ukrainian economy and Ukrainian companies in the American one. This will enhance prosperity, security and economic growth in Ukraine and the United States.
As part of the memorandum, the parties plan to develop and implement commercial projects, as well as participate in government procurement in Ukraine and the United States.
Key attention will be paid to cooperation in the energy sector, including supporting Ukraine's goals for energy transition and decarbonization, in infrastructure, development of the digital economy, defense, cybersecurity and healthcare.
Earlier the head of the State Enterprise Energoatom Petro Kotin and the President, Chief Executive Officer of Westinghouse Patrick Fragman signed a memorandum of cooperation, which provides for the deployment of Westinghouse AP1000 reactors in Ukraine.
In addition, the State Space Agency of Ukraine and the United States Department of Defense signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of space flight safety.
