The joint staff drills of the Joint Command of Regional Grouping of Forces of Belarus and the Russia Federation have started on March 18 and will last until March 22 as Belarusian Defense Ministry reported.
“The aim of the drills is to increase the coherence of the bodies of the military administration and operative compatibility of the personnel of the Joint Command during the implementation planning along with other troops and military formations of the Republic of Belarus,” the message said.
It is noted that the officers of the Armed Forces of Belarus and Russia as the part of the Joint Command of Regional Grouping of Forces are involved in the drills as well as the operational teams of the command of the Air Force and Air Defence Troops, special operations battalions, operative commands control, staffs of the territorial defense zones, republican bodies of the state government of Belarus.
“The training is the initial stage of the preparation to the joint operative drills of the Armed Forces of Belarus and Russia “Shchyt Soyuza 2019” (Shield of Union 2019) with main topic “Preparation and use of the forces groupings in the interests of the provision of the military security of the union state”. The drills will take place in September in the territory of Russia,” the message said.
As we reported Lukashenko stated that Belarus and Russian will always be together no matter how much they argue and fight.
Earlier, Lukashenko stated that he would not call Russia a fraternal state anymore but only a partner. Besides, the Belarusian president expressed the opinion that Moscow wants to incorporate Belarus into the composition of Russia on the pretext of “deep integration”.
Moreover, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has requested the government to work out the issue of the alternatives of the oil supply through Baltic countries instead of Russia.
