A practical phase of the flight tests of anti-aircraft guided medium-range missiles is undergoing near the Oleksandrivka village in Kherson region. It is reported by the Defense Ministry's press service.
Manual testing provides the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Colonel-General Sergiy Drozdov. In addition, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko monitors the military drills.
"In order to acquire combat experience in the application of anti-aircraft missile systems, checking the quality of the recovered ammunition, in the framework of the test crews units of anti-aircraft missile forces work out practical problems with fighting and simulated launches of surface-to-air missile air targets - unmanned aerial vehicles that mimic the flight of cruise missile", explains in the department.
It is noted that all safety measures have been taken, in particular, to determine the time and altitude ban the use of airspace for practical testing phase.
The Defense Ministry again emphasized that aerial shooting are conducting solely within the airspace of Ukraine, over the high seas, with strict observance of all norms of international law.
