“On 22 June 2020 at 10.00 a.m. CET, the hearings will resume. The court is confident that the defense will submit its requests to it earlier if possible,” the message said.
During the hearing, the defense will deliver a speech and respond to all materials provided by the prosecution. Thus, the defense of suspect Russian Oleg Pulatov will have their word.
The further course of the proceedings will become known on 22 June 2020.
During the previous court session on June 10, the lawyers of the suspect complained that the defense is limited with time as it is difficult to catch up six years of investigation – the lawyers have worked only for a few months. The lawyer was proving that the coronavirus complicated the work and it is unreal to discuss the case online.
As we reported, one of the prosecutors in the case of the crash of the Malaysian Boeing-777 (Flight MH17) stated Russia's involvement in the armed conflict in Donbas. Three citizens of Russia are accused: Sergey Dubinsky, Igor Girkin, and Oleg Pulatov. Another accused man is citizen of Ukraine, Leonid Kharchenko. They were also absent during the first gathering of the court in March.
Boeing 777 of Malaysian Airlines, flight number MH17 was destroyed while performing a regular flight from the Netherlands to Malaysia in July 2014. The tragedy took place in the sky over the militant-held section of the Donetsk region. All 298 people aboard deceased; most of the victims, 196, were Dutch, but there were citizens of another nine countries as well.
