The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine works out the possibility of the implementation of entrance of Russian citizens to the territory of Ukraine on biometric passports. The Director of the Political Department of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine Oleksiy Makeev reported this at the press conference on biometric passports, according to Interfax-Ukraine.
'The work started and MFA discuss this not only on the state and authority level but involving the experts and civil society. It is one of the options. The decision is not made yet, we have a lot of means and every of them have the right for the future. We will proceed from the real tasks that MFA, special services and Government of Ukraine face with.
He also reported that one of the variant is the restriction for the entrance for some categories of Russian that will be defined during the cooperation with special services of there is a decision to implement the visa regime.
According to Makeev, the implementation of the absolute ban for the entrance to Ukraine from Russia is not excluded.
'Finally, we can implement the absolute ban for entrance it there is such necessity from the national security point of view', he said.
Later he added that according to the acting legislation, the authority of the country can change the order of entrance and departure of people on the territory of Ukraine.
Earlier, Turchynov claimed that the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine will fill the calculations that are necessary to implement the entrance of Russians to the territory of Ukraine on biometric passports. He emphasized that he considers such measure as temporary until the visa regime with Russia will be implemented.
