German Chancellor Angela Merkel will work on organizing a Normandy format meeting every day, until the last day of her tenure as Interfax-Ukraine reported citing Ambassador of Germany in Ukraine Anka Feldhusen.
“We are already working very hard with our French colleagues on this opportunity to arrange a meeting at the level of foreign ministers in the Normandy format. Of course, it's really hard,” she said.
At the same time, Feldgusen noted that at the moment there is no clear idea of when the summit might take place.
“Contacts are taking place with both the Ukrainian and Russian sides. The Federal Chancellor said, while visiting Kyiv, that she will work on organizing this meeting every day, until the last day of her tenure," the ambassador added.
As we reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky negotiated with French leader Emmanual Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The sides focused on preparations for the summit of the Normandy Four member countries.
Earlier, Minister for Reintegration of the Occupied Territories Oleksiy Reznikov stated that France and Germany have confirmed the readiness of their leaders – President Emmanuel Macron and Chancellor Angela Merkel – to hold the Normandy Format Summit on Donbas Conflict in Berlin.
