German Chancellor Angela Merkel wants to hold an emergency summit on the migration crisis in Europe. This is written by Bild with reference to the source.

According to the publication, the Chancellor of Germany intends to discuss the issue of migrants with Greece, Austria and Italy.

As noted, the meeting is currently at the planning stage. The exact date of the summit is still unknown.

Earlier media reported that the government of Merkel split due to the disagreements between the Chancellor of Germany and her coalition allies from the Christian-Social Union (CSU) on the migration policy of Germany.

As noted, further escalation may lead to the resignation of Merkel.

Earlier Angela Merkel, the Chancellor of Germany, stated that the G7 member states would discuss the questions of Russia’s returning to this summit format only after a “substantial progress” concerning the issues in Ukraine is reached, as Reuters reports.

“Here we all agreed that a return of Russia to the G7-format summits can’t happen until substantial progress has been made in connection with the problems with Ukraine,” she said.

She stressed that that was “the common view”.

Earlier, Trump supported Russia’s returning to G8. Giuseppe Conte, Italy’s PM had the same position.

France and Canada spoke against it.

Russia was expelled from G8 after Crimea’s annexation, the G8 became G7.
