Earlier, Russia refused to discuss the return of annexed Crimea to Ukraine within the Normandy format, or in any other formats. This was stated by spokesman for the Russian President Dmitry Peskov in response to the words of the Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky about his intention to put the Crimean issue for discussion at the Normandy format summit.

According to Peskov, the issue of the Crimea’s affiliation "was closed in due time."

"The reasons for this (the Crimean issue, - 112 International) are well known, the forerunner of this is also well known to everyone, and any other discussions in any formats are impossible," Peskov said.
