The members of the European Commission will not visit Russia during the holding of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Margaritis Schinas, the spokesperson of the European Commission claimed this at the press conference in Brussels as European Truth reported.
“None of the college (European commissioners) will visit the World Cup,” Schinas said.
Earlier it was reported that no leader of the West will visit the opening ceremony of the World Cup.
It is officially known that the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Bolivia, Kazakhstan, Kirgizia, Lebanon, Moldova, Panama, Paraguay, Ruanda, Saudi Arabia, Tadzhikistan and Uzbekistan will come to Russia.
Moreover, there are to states not recognized by the majority of the world, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, on the list.
As it was reported earlier, Ihor Zhdanov, the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine filed the letters to all ministers responsible for the sport of 35 countries participating in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
The UK, Australia and Iceland that are not in the EU announced the diplomatic boycott of the 2018 World Cup.
As of June 7, more than 2.4 million tickets for the championship matches were sold. Almost 872 thousand tickets were purchased by fans from Russia, 88.8 thousand from the USA, 72.5 thousand from Brazil, 65.2 thousand from Colombia, 62.5 thousand from Germany, 60.3 thousand from Mexico, 54,000 from Argentina, 43,600 from Peru, 40,200 from China, 36,300 from Australia, and 32,300 from England.
