The negotiations of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Russia’s President Vladimir Putin will be a positive moment for the interests of Ukraine as Viktor Medvedchuk, the Chairman of the Political Council of Opposition Platform – For Life stated.

“The meetings should take place not just for the meeting; however, I believe that it would be a positive moment – the meeting of two leaders of two neighboring states, Ukraine and Russia. It is very important because during such meetings, during the bilateral talks the common denominator might be reached for a lot of issues,” he believes.

Medvedchuk reminded that the Opposition Platform – For Life stands for the renewal of the trade and economic relations with Russia in full extent and stands for such policy from Ukraine’s side and Ukrainian authorities.

“But in this case, really, this meeting will be efficient and productive if it is prepared if it includes the issues with positive approaches of the solution of that or these issues for improvement of such relations,” he concluded.

As we reported first president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev offered Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to meet one-on-one, without participation of the U.S., European society and other sides in Kazakhstan.

Later Putin’s Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that it is early to talk about a one-on-one meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, and the focus is on the preparation for the Normandy Summit.
