Opposition Platform-For Life party claims to be doing everything for conflict in Donbas to be over, and to bring peace in Ukraine. Viktor Medvedchuk, the Chairman of Political Council of Opposition Platform-For Life party said so during the meeting with voters and party members in Luhansk region.
"Getting back to peace, I'd like to say one thing: we'll make it so, for sure. We will make this peace real. We'll do everything for Donbas to return to Ukraine, and Ukraine - to Donbas, so that there would be no more of these currently existing contact lines. We will do everything for peace to come - together, by joint efforts, holding on to the policy that could really bring this result", he said.
On October 20, Chairman of Political Council of Opposition Platform-For Life paid a working visit to Luhansk region, along with his colleagues. During the visit, he dropped by Rubizhansky cardboard factory, which managed to resume working - after Russia lifted sanctions off this enterprise; Medvedchuk's efforts in this regard made it possible.
The politician added that, in spite of the criticism coming from the government, the main objective of Opposition Platform - For Life is "to act within the interests of people".
"Our task is to see to it that people have jobs and salaries, and thus, make it sure that there are funds in the budget and in the pension funds. We will be able to make this true by negotiations and a radical change of economic course. We also believe that the sanctions will be lifted off all the enterprises. We will work and fight for that to happen", he said.
Medvedchuk also claimed that the acting Ukrainian government does nothing to maintain peace in eastern Ukraine, as it lacks political will. "On the one hand, it fears radical activists, and on the other, it wants to please the West, which is now ruling Ukraine remotely", he said.
According to the politician, the party developed a peace plan based on Minsk agreements, which foresees all aspects of peaceful solution to Donbas conflict.
