"Opposition Platform - For Life" can offer a lot in the economic sphere to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky but he does not need a meeting with the opposition. Chairman of the Political Council of "Opposition Platform - For Life" Party, MP Viktor Medvedchuk said on the air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"It would be not only premature but also biased to speak today about meeting with Mr. Zelensky if he does not need such a meeting. We do not have to and will not ask anyone for alms. Today we are the citizens of Ukraine. There is a Constitution, there is legislation in effect, there is something that must be adhered to in the country, and we demand that adherence. And for opposition to enter into negotiations with the president, especially if he has no desire for such negotiations on this issue and on many other issues, because the question is much more important: it is the social sphere, it is the economic sphere, it is the sphere of making peace in Donbas and cessation of combat actions, today it is the question of what is happening in the country and how it is happening," he said.
"Our faction and our party today are the people, who have vast experience in state-building and governing, vast experience in economic development and social development, and we have a lot to offer and offer what needs to be taken into consideration, in our opinion. But unfortunately, this is not present at the moment, this is not present in our statements on the budget, on the adoption of the law on the land sale market, and on many other issues (tariff formation, gas cost, Ukraine’s gas purchase, housing and communal services debt relief). This is what we publicly offer, it is all set out in those bills that have already been registered and which have to be considered, but they are either considered and negative decisions are made, or they are simply not considered at all, which happens often and for the most part, unfortunately, it is a pity for the majority of the citizens of Ukraine," the MP added.
As we reported earlier, Ukraine lost the time for negotiations on the gas transit from Russia. Viktor Medvedchuk, the Chairman of Political Council of Opposition Platform - For Life party said this during the working visit to the Zakarpattia region, westernmost Ukraine.
