Ukraine's economy will not change if the new government does not withdraw from the destructive Free Trade Area with the European Union. Viktor Medvedchuk, Ukraine's MP and chairman of the political council of “Opposition Platform - For Life” political party said that during the briefing on the sidelines of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
"Now it is already clear from yesterday's comments of the "Servants of the People" and from the information about the new prime minister, and the new government. It's out of the question to say that this is a reboot, or to say that today the situation in the economic and social sphere will change with the new government, even with a new head of government. Because the main issue is not in those people (although it significantly affects the execution and implementation of the policy by the central executive body in economic and social sphere). The main things depend on the conditions. If Mr. Zelensky, his team, the new one or the updated one that is coming today, do not radically change the economic course, does not withdraw from the FTA with the EU, which is devastating and destroying our economy, if they do not withdraw from the joining to the EU sanctions against Russia, if they do not restore markets for our export products if they do not change the situation in the setting relations in those sectors that can develop and produce competitive products - not in Europe, this is a distant prospect for us, but in CIS countries, Asian and Pacific regions, absolutely nothing will change. No matter what names are announced," the politician explained.
"Yes, the current government must resign. It is unprofessional, it has aggravated the country's poor economic and social policies and deserved to be resigned. But the arrival of the new team does not yet promise anything positive. So I believe that something different could happen today, for it not to become an even-steven transaction. There will be no results unless the economic and social policy is changed. And the social policy depends directly on the results in the economy. They are deplorable today. While Zelensky and his team in power, the country has turned from poor to pauper, and, unfortunately, this process continues," Medvedchuk emphasized.
As we reported, on January 23, Chairman of the Political Council of the Opposition Platform - For Life Party, MP Viktor Medvedchuk in Paris held a presentation of the Normandy Format Parliamentary Dimension, where he met with members of the French Senate, National Assembly and representatives of diplomatic and business circles of France. During his meeting with members of Bundestag, Medvedchuk discussed a “Parliamentary Dimension of the Normandy Format” with German MPs as well.
