The third phase of clinical trials of the Sputnik V vaccine, unlike others, will finish in March 2021. Other coronavirus vaccines will complete this phase of the research only in 2022 - 2023. The Chairman of Political Council of the Opposition Platform - For Life and MP Viktor Medvedchuk said this to journalists on the sidelines of the Verkhovna Rada.
“Regarding the third phase of clinical trials of a vaccine. Today all vaccines that are known, talked, written about in the world, and which have already begun to be used for vaccination - they are all in the third stage of clinical trials. Let's start with those which are discussed the most: Moderna or Moderna Biotech, co-produced by Germany and the U.S. This vaccine is in its third stage of clinical trials, which will end at the end of 2022, at the beginning of 2023. Think about it, at the end of 2022, at the beginning of 2023. Pfizer – in 2023. British AstraZeneca vaccine. Its clinical phase of trials, third phase, will end at the end of 2022and beginning of 2023. Thirdly, Sputnik V vaccine completes the third phase of clinical trials in March 21. Mass vaccination began with the Sputnik-V vaccine, the effectiveness of which is in the 91-95% range. Moreover, yesterday , the institute-developer of this vaccine, Gamaleya center, reported that in the case of severe coronavirus diseases, this vaccine protects from severe consequences and serious diseases with 100% effectiveness. This is the only result that exists in the world today among all vaccines. Moreover, Moderna and Biotech have 95% of the effectiveness at this stage of clinical trials, in the third phase, and AstraZeneca has on average 70% of the effectiveness, which is allowed by the WHO, since everything over 65% can be sold as a vaccine against certain other diseases,” the politician said.
Viktor Medvedchuk stressed that having all this information, the authorities refuse from the Russian vaccine and act feloniously towards Ukrainians.
“This is another evidence of the limited mind, dilettantism and unprofessionalism of our government, pf the Ministry of Health, which demonstrate once again that they are politically motivated in issues where it is necessary to think about the life and health of our people, Ukrainian citizens. This does not happen, and the government along with the Health Ministry, and in general Zelensky and his team behaves feloniously in the issue of vaccination of the population,” the politician added.
Earlier, on October 6, Viktor Medvedchuk met with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and raised an issue of supplying the Sputnik V vaccine, developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, to Ukraine to protect the life and health of Ukrainian citizens. In early November, Viktor Medvedchuk held another meeting with the President of the Russian Federation V. Putin, where he voiced a request to produce the Sputnik V vaccine (confirmed efficiency of which is 95%) in Ukraine.
