Recordings of conversations between ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and U.S. presidential candidate Joe Biden should be investigated. The Chairman of the Political Council of the Opposition Platform - For Life Party Viktor Medvedchuk said this in an interview with 112 Ukraine, ZIK, NewsOne and Inter TV channels.
“Yes, we don’t need to interfere in the American situation; we don’t need to demand that Biden be held accountable for corrupt actions. We must bring to justice the guilty people here, in Ukraine. And the president of Ukraine must create conditions for this. He cannot demand, he cannot force someone, he cannot give orders, but the law enforcement agencies must assess this situation themselves. Will they assess it? No, they will not. Because when the second part of the recordings appeared, the Servant of the People faction turned to us: “Give us two people for the Investigation Committee.” They were the initiators of creation of the Investigation Committee. We did that. The plenary week was ending at that time. A week after the work in the committees, everyone forgot about it. Why? It is because the president was told not to do this. Seven former ex-US ambassadors to Ukraine wrote a letter and said: “You should not interfere in the election campaign.” What campaign? What does “interfere” mean? ” he noted.
The politician added that it was necessary to assess the person who sent sabotage groups to carry out sabotage against the citizens of Ukraine.
“Citizens of Ukraine live in Crimea, it is Ukraine. A group, which was aimed at committing sabotage actions, was sent there. There were victims, people died. And he did it deliberately. What does Biden have to do with it? Biden, on the contrary, criticized him for this, if you believe these conversations, which you should not do. But Biden himself is interesting not for the Ukrainian media, but for the American media. I said yesterday in an interview with American journalists that Biden did not say in Congress about the fact that this sabotage was done with the consent of the President of Ukraine. And he continued to hold talks that were interesting for him, but this is an assessment of the United States and their law enforcement and judicial systems, they must assess it. Our President and our law enforcement system must assess the actions of people who are citizens of Ukraine,” Medvedchuk added.
