Delegation of Opposition Party – For life met the leadership of leaders of the Russian government, State Duma and Yedinaya Rossiya (United Russia) as Viktor Medvedchuk, the Chairman of the Political Council of Opposition Platform – For Life reported during a briefing in Moscow.
“All of you were present during the inter-party negotiations with delegation of United Russia headed by Dmitry A. Medvedev, chairman of the government and chairman of the party; other participants are Chairman of Supreme Council Borys V. Gryzlov; he is also a representative in the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk; First Deputy Chairman of State Duma Alexandr D. Zhukov and Head of Faction, Deputy Head of State Duma Sergey I. Neverov. We discussed the issues, which are relevant in Ukraine. It is issues tied with a peace settlement. Moreover, Mr. Gryzlov was present who supported once more the peace plan-concept, which was approved at the meeting of our party; he believes that Minsk Agreements and this plan are the mechanisms, which may implement peace, bring this peace and stop the combat actions,” the politician said.
Medvedchuk also reported that the economic issues were raised and they are of interest of Ukraine.
“We returned to the issues of tariffs, prices for gas; we returned to particular issues, which will be revealed by the colleagues. And we asked to continue, at least unilaterally, the lifting of sanctions, which are imposed against Ukrainian enterprises. And, of course, discussed the issue of the further party cooperation between our parties to continue this dialogue. To continue our relations between Russia and Ukraine, we should change the situation; we should change the content of these relations and we should move toward peace in Ukraine and we think that such dialogue will help us,” Medvedchuk concluded.
Earlier Parliamentarian, founder of Opposition Platform – For Life Yuriy Boyko stated that new Ukrainian authority continues to parasite on war in the east of the country, providing no change to end it.
