The Chairman of Political Council of Opposition Platform - For Life Party and MP Viktor Medvedchuk said that opening of the land market is a crime against all citizens of Ukraine. This opinion was expressed during the conversation with journalists.
The politician recalled that one of the first issues discussed by Mr. Zelensky and his team was the adoption of law on holding all-Ukrainian and local referendums.
Medvedchuk emphasized that Opposition Platform - For Life Party had registered a bill on August 29, but there was no intention to consider it in the parliamentary hall.
"We believe that the land market can only take place if it is confirmed via an all-Ukrainian referendum. We are convinced that laws on the opening of the agricultural land market, on the sale of these lands, can only be considered when a decision is reached within an all-Ukrainian referendum that will confirm such volition of Ukrainian people. Otherwise, it is a crime against the majority of Ukrainian citizens," Medvedchuk stressed.
As we reported earlier, 73 percent of respondents of the social survey by Rating Sociological Group stand against opening the land market in Ukraine. Another 19 percent support this idea, according to the survey results.
The poll results have been released on the group's official web page (Rating Group Ukraine).
The survey shows that only 13 percent of respondents supported the sale of agricultural lands to foreigners. 81 percent stood against it.
