Ukraine has facilities for the production of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, and Russia is ready to provide the raw materials. Viktor Medvedchuk, the Chairman of the Political Council of the Opposition Platform - For Life stated following a meeting with the developers of Sputnik V vaccine.
He reminded that a working group was created a month ago to reach such agreements.
“After a month of work, today we have reached a result that is significant for Ukraine because we are talking about the possibility of transferring technology for the production of vaccines to Ukraine, as well as the provision of raw materials in the form of a cell line and the possibility to produce this vaccine at the facilities of Ukraine. And today we are summing up the work of the working group and are ready to continue the agreements regarding the production of this vaccine, I emphasize, in Ukraine,” Viktor Medvedchuk noted.
The politician also added that the Ukrainian facilities meet all necessary standards.
“It is very important as an indicator that such production is really possible, and that such capacities have been found. They meet the standards that must be implemented in the course of applying vaccine production technologies. Naturally, the question here lies only with the authorities of Ukraine, when the corresponding application will be submitted for registration. And the will of the Ukrainian authorities to provide it to Ukrainian citizens, because today the fight against the plague of the XXI century, which, unfortunately, we rightfully call the coronavirus, is happening all over the world. We need to do everything necessary to protect our people. In this case, I am talking about the citizens of Ukraine, despite a certain specific position of our government,” he stressed.
