The majority in the Verkhovna Rada of the ninth convocation should ensure the rights of the opposition, guarantee their security and the law on the opposition. This was stated by the chairman of the political council of the "The Opposition Platform - For Life" party Viktor Medvedchuk on the air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.

“You know, well, you can raise this issue (the law on the opposition, - 112 International), and I have already said that this issue is raised every time, but this question always depends on the government or on the majority in parliament. The majority should ensure the rights of the opposition, their guarantees of protection and the law on the opposition. And if the government does not have such proposals, then, of course, this will not happen," he said.

Medvedchuk also noted that the bill on the rights of the opposition exists and is registered at the Parliament.

"It is submitted to this parliament. Naturally, no one considered it and did not intend to do this. Therefore, if the majority, which will be represented by the Servant of the People, has such a desire, then this bill ... By the way, it was submitted by the MPs from the Opposition Bloc and MPs from the Opposition Platform party ... We can update it if there is political will from those who represent the majority in the new Verkhovna Rada,” Medvedchuk summed up.
