Medvedchuk: NATO has nothing to gain from Ukraine's full membership in Alliance

Currently, it is unbeneficial for NATO if Ukraine will become a full member of the Alliance as Viktor Medvedchuk, the Chairman of the Political Council of Opposition Platform – For Life stated.

“Concerning the course to NATO. The full acquiring of NATO. But we know both, the position of NATO on this issue and we know the position, if not NATO, but at least, we proceed from the premise that even the nation security assistant of U.S. President Mr. Trump stated a few days ago that today it is not the issue of the modern stage of the development of the relations between NATO and Ukraine and it is unbeneficial for NATO if Ukraine will become a full member of the Alliance because nobody wants to argue with Russia,” he said.

“More than the graphic, forthright statement, moreover, from the U.S. had to sober everyone. Not only the party of war but those who only pretend to replace the party of war in Ukraine,” the MP added.

Earlier Secretary-General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg stated that Ukraine and Georgia will be the members of the North Atlantic Alliance.

As we reported, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg called on Alliance members to provide more resources in order to support Ukraine and Georgia, he also reminded about their importance as partners of the Alliance in the Black Sea region.
