The resignation of Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk is a cheap and cynical PR move. The Chairman of the Political Council of Opposition Platform - For Life Party and MP Viktor Medvedchuk said in a conversation with reporters on the sidelines of Verkhovna Rada.

“You know, I want to tell you that this is just such a cynical and cheap PR move by Prime Minister Honcharuk. Of course, both Honcharuk and the entire government should be dismissed, taking into account the consequences of their activities. But what he did is just a cheap play to show he is ready to resign. At the same time for some reason, he writes a letter to the president with the right to pass it to parliament, although he knows or should know that, according to Article 115 of the Constitution of Ukraine, he should address such matters to the Verkhovna Rada,” he said.

“And if he addressed Verkhovna Rada, then it would have to include it in the agenda and consider this issue in accordance with all the rules stipulated by the law on Rules of Procedure. He wrote it and passed it to the administration, submitted it to the president. The president, naturally, will not agree to this and we will find out about this soon. Therefore, I call it a cheap PR move by Honcharuk, a cheap PR move of the authorities as a whole, which, unfortunately, will not result in anything,” the MP stressed.

Earlier it was reported that a record appeared in the network where allegedly the Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk, the first deputy head of NBU Kateryna Rozhkova and the Finance Minister Oksana Markarova discussed the dollar exchange rate and economic issues before meeting with President Zelensky. Oleksiy Honcharuk believes that Zelensky “needs to be told stories." Honcharuk teaches how to talk to Zelensky about economy issues: “You have to tell him: “Look here, Vova. If the currency exchange rate is lower, it means that Olivier salad on New Year’s table next year will not be more expensive than this year.”

On January 17, Ukraine's PM Honcharuk filed resignation letter and handed it over to President Volodymyr Zelensky.
