Ukrainian authorities should organize and finish the disengagement of forces near Zolote and Petrivske to have a further progress in the Donbas conflict solution. Viktor Medvedchuk, the Chairman of the Political Council of the Opposition Platform - For Life party and Ukrainian MP said that in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The politician notes that his party evaluates positively the start of disengagement of forces near Zolote settlement.
"We consider it as the first step, the second one should be the disengagement near Petrivske as the second pilot project, which was adopted in 2016. We should implement what we have decided then, during the session of the Normandy format," he reminded.
According to Medvedchuk, only after these measures, further steps in a peaceful settlement of Donbas conflict may be discussed.
"I think the authorities have to organize and to finish disengaging forces near Zolote, to continue disengaging forces near Petrivske and go to the enhancement of the peace process on the implementation of Minsk agreements. We believe it will happen. If Mr. Zelensky has got the political will, then he should be able to realize it," the MP summarized.
