The authorities have to complete the exchange of prisoners according to ‘all for all’ formula. The Chairman of the Political Council of Opposition Platform - For Life Party and MP Viktor Medvedchuk said this on air of The Pulse TV program on 112 Ukraine TV channel.
“You know, the “all for all” formula or a formula that transforms into the formula “all identified for all identified” is the formula of Minsk agreement,” the politician reminded.
Medvedchuk said that the exchange of prisoners on September 7 is not related to the settlement of conflict in Donbas: “It is relations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine regarding the release of people who were held in prison and in custody in two countries."
“When we say “all for all” formula, it is the formula of Minsk agreement. This applies to the detainees we are looking for and want to return home, the citizens of Ukraine who are currently being held in Donetsk and Luhansk, and Donetsk and Luhansk, which their turn, want to return those who are in Ukraine,” he explained.
“It is a formula I have repeatedly talked about, and it must be implemented. Moreover, this formula, which could be implemented, is much simpler than the one the result of which we observed on Sunday,” Medvedchuk believes. He explained that the lists for exchange with Donetsk and Luhansk are being reviewed for a long time.
“If the task was set to quickly resolve this issue, then those who are currently negotiating an exchange, representatives of the Kyiv authorities and representatives of the unrecognized authorities of Donetsk and Luhansk could already reach the finishing line,” he said.
On September 7, the prisoners’ exchange took place between Kyiv and Moscow in 35 for 35 format.
