President Volodymyr Zelensky should not stoop to the threats to the parliament, solving the issue that arose in the country due to the cancelation of the electronic declaration as ZIK reported citing Chairman of Political Council of Opposition Platform - For Life Party Viktor Medvedchuk.

“It is necessary to develop new norms that should regulate the gaps that appeared in the current legislation after the recognition of the number of articles as unconstitutional.

It is the only way that the authorities should follow in the rule-of-law state. It is the only way for the Verkhovna Rada – to develop the bills with the denotation and consideration that the Constitutional Court recognized these norms unconstitutional, in other words, they should be developed in such a manner that they meet the Constitution, submit to the room and adopt,” the politician noted.

Meanwhile, Medvedchuk underlined that nobody stands against the declaration of income and expenditure of the officials.

“In our faction when we raised this issue, we pointed out in our submission to the Constitutional Court that the norms of the Constitution are violated and it should be abolished and the violations of the Constitution should be recognized in such a way and these norms should be adopted in another edition and they should not violate the norms of the main law. This is it. In other words, in this situation, the accusations, suspicions and even insults of all kinds concerning this fact – they are not even perceived by our party Opposition Platform – For Life and faction. We will not vote for any of these laws,” he explained.

According to Medvedchuk, Verkhovna Rada should elaborate on new legislation that should solve the gaps that appeared after the decision of the Constitutional Court but in no way these adopted norms should violate the Constitution.

“It is the only legal solution to the current situation. Everything else is from evil. When you ask about the statement of the president that he will dissolve the Verkhovna Rada – possibly, he threatened the representatives from his party who do not want to vote, knowing that this voting will be a violation of the Constitution, not only the Constitution but also the norms of the criminal legislation.

Whether these MPs right who do not want to vote – they are absolutely right. Whether the president right when he threats? I believe that he is not right. I believe that the president should not stoop to the threats. Concerning the dissolution of the parliament – I believe that there are all grounds, especially after the local elections, concerning the level of the confidence provided to the Servant of the People, to reconsider the issue of trust to the Verkhovna Rada of IX convocation. I believe that if this issue is analyzed, we will get the answer: “Yes, the Ukrainian people believe that the new elections should take place and the new Verkhovna Rada should be elected that will meet the majority of the interests of the Ukrainian people,” the politician concluded.
