The suggested budget of the government for the next year is the budget of poverty, which does not differ from the budgets adopted by the Verkhovna Rada in 2014-2019. Viktor Medvedchuk, the Chairman of Political Council of Opposition Platform - For Life party and MP stated this on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"If we speak about evaluation, it depends on the scale. Anyway, it will be from zero to one. Well, maybe up to two (on any scale of assessment of such a budget, which was suggested today by Zelensky's team, which unfortunately including for our fraction was approved in the first reading). We, our faction voted against this budget. If we compare it to the criterium stated in your question and this is the criterium, how it is consistent with Zelensky's and Servant of the People Party's promises, I want to say to you: those promises did not come any closer to the implementation through the budget approved today. It did not come any closer. This is the budget of poverty. This is the budget, which does not differ from the budgets adopted by the Verkhovna Rada in 2014-2019," the politician noted.
According to Medvedchuk, the suggested budget is the budget of the further economical crisis and budget directed at scaling down of the social standards.
"This is the budget, where is no place for the funds on the economic development, for changing (and we consider it as an essential and vital point) the economical course - the radical change of the economical course in the country. This is the budget, which does not answer people's expectations. When people realize it, I'm sure they will evaluate it correctly. Of course, it can be changed during the preparation for the second reading. However, I, unfortunately, have big serious doubts about it, as here we have the policy of Mr. Zelensky, his government and his faction in the parliament, and they decided to move this way. So, going back to the beginning of your question: not a single promise of Mr. Zelensky and his party is fulfilled within the budget. And they will not be fulfilled if the budget is adopted and implemented in the next year of 2020," Medvedchuk emphasized.
