The bill on the secondary education grossly violates five articles of the Constitution of Ukraine and we will appeal to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine if it is signed as Viktor Medvedchuk, the Chairman of the Political Council of Opposition Platform – For Life reported.

“Because this law, which, unfortunately, was adopted yesterday, the law on secondary education; this law violates such articles of the Constitution as 10, 11, 22, 24, 53. In other words, it is the blatant violation of five articles of the Constitution, the Main law. It is the policy of discrimination of the Russian language, policy of discrimination of Russian-speaking population; it is, in fact, the things, which were enacted into the state policy by the previous regime; I mean the discrimination of the Russian language and Russian-speaking population, which continues during the current authority,” he said.

“Of course, if the president signs this law on secondary education, we have all grounds and we will definitely do it, appeal to the Constitutional Court. Moreover, I am sure that the Constitutional Court will listen to our opinion for one simple reason: I would be able to analyze the arguments and evidence but I may quote article 10, part 3 of the Constitution, which says that in the territory of Ukraine, the free development, use and protection of the Russian and other languages of the national minorities are guaranteed. This is it. It is the norm spelled out in the Main law. It should be implemented. The law on the education, the previous one, the law on the secondary education grossly violates this article and other articles I mentioned,” the MP underlined.

Earlier, Medvedchuk stated that the resignation of Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk is a cheap and cynical PR move.
