British Prime Minister Theresa May might announce her resignation on May 24, as The Times reported.
“Andrea Leadsom quit as leader of the House last night rather than press ahead with the introduction of the Bill she said included elements that were “not Brexit”,” the outlet wrote.
Recently, May has presented another variant of Brexit bill to the Parliament. It contained a proposal to hold voting on another Brexit referendum. The Head of the Parliament also offered to vote for the aspects of future relations with the EU.
May’s proposal triggered negative reaction among the members of Labour and Conservative parties who support “hard Brexit”.
It was reported that May relied on the last step in Brexit saga, but she is ready to resign if her proposal got no support.
The news agency reads that May might announce her resignation after the meeting with the Head of the parliamentary group of the Conservative party in the House of Commons Graham Brady. The meeting is scheduled on May 24.
