The massive inoculation from coronavirus in Ukraine is not supposed to begin in Ukraine before May 2021. Viktor Lyashko, the Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine said so in an evening show at 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"I would not count on the massive vaccination until May 2021, but the vaccines should appear sooner", the official noted.
He added that currently, Ukraine works in two directions to get access to the vaccines - the direct procurement and COVAX (mechanism of global access to the vaccines). Ukraine wrote official letters to the companies that develop vaccines, as their vaccines passed to the third phase of tests. Currently, there are nine such companies. The Ukrainian government is now negotiating with these companies on the price and the amount of these vaccines.
Currently, Lyashko says, Ukraine is testing four drugs that are supposed to help treat Covid-19. One of these could soon be introduced into the protocol of treatment.
