Mass vaccination against coronavirus will begin in Ukraine in mid-2021. The chairman of the commission on biosafety and biological protection under the National Security and Defense Council, academician of the National Academy of Sciences Serhiy Komissarenko announced this on the air of Ukraine 24 TV channel.

"The main thing is not the vaccine problem, but the vaccination problem. That is, you need to prepare the entire infrastructure and logistics in order to carry it out correctly. Mass vaccination will be carried out in the middle of next year if Ukraine does what needs to be done," Komissarenko said.

Note that the emergence of a vaccine against coronavirus disease from global manufacturers is expected in Ukraine at the end of the first - beginning of the second quarter of 2021.

According to Health Minister Maxym Stepanov, the Ministry is at the final stage of negotiations to reach agreements with global vaccine manufacturers, which products have passed the third stage of clinical trials, in particular with Pfizer.

It was noted that in Ukraine during 2021 authorities plan to vaccinate 20.9 million people (about 50% of the country's population) against coronavirus.
