The European Union will disappear, stated Marine Le Pen, French presidential candidate from the National Front party, at a rally in Lille. She also promised to protect France from globalization, reports Reuters.
"The European Union will die, because people no longer want this," quotes her speech the agency. The politician explained her idea by saying that, in her opinion, "arrogant and hegemonic empires are doomed to perish."
"It's time to defeat the globalists," Le Pen said, accusing his main rivals in the presidential race - the centrist Emmanuel Macron and the conservative François Fillon - of "betraying" because of their "pro-European" and "pro-market" policies. The upcoming elections in France she also called "the next step in the global uprising of people."
As reported, the election of the French president will be held in two rounds - on April 23 and May 7. The leader of the party "National Front" Marine Le Pen, former Prime Minister Francois Fillon, the former Minister of the Economy Emmanuelle Macron, are the candidates for the presidency.
