Political consultant Paul Manafort after the flight of Viktor Yanukovych could use the post at the staff of Donald Trump for his own enrichment. This is reported by The Washington Post referring to sources among Trump's presidential campaign.
"From March to August of the election year, there was no sign, according to Trump campaign insiders, that Manafort was in crisis," sources told the publication.
According to them, Manafort knew how difficult work at Trump's headquarters could be, but he still tried to save his fortune, "launch a scheme of global fraud" and enter a new stage in his career.
In addition Manafort, as sources inform, long before work on Trump knew that his business was in danger, since his "most profitable client" - the then Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovich fled from Ukraine. After Manafort stopped receiving money from Yanukovych, his expenses quickly exceeded his income.
We recall, the trial of Manafort began in the US on July 31. He is accused of laundering money and evading taxes for almost 10 years of cooperation with the former leadership of Ukraine.
The investigation believes that Manafort earned more than $ 60 million for the work of the political consultant in Ukraine, but officially he declared 14 million dollars in revenues for 2010-2014.
Earlier, the investigation team presented more than 300 documents that reveal the details of cooperation between Manafort and the Party of Regions and the "Opposition Bloc".
