Man dies after accident at gas treatment plant in Ukraine's Kharkiv region

One of those who suffered in the incident at a gas treatment plant in the Kharkiv region passed away. The press office of Kharkiv city council reported that as quoted by Interfax-Ukraine.

"One of the injured people died. He's a male, aged 61; up to 80 percent of his body were burned. Besides, he also had other injuries, including fractions", reads the message.

The overall number of those who died increased by three. Another eight wounded remain at the hospital. Two of them are in the intensive care unit, and four in the burn unit. Six patients are in stable and grave condition.

On Wednesday, October 28, a gas explosion occurred on the territory of a gas processing station located in the Dergachiv district of the Kharkiv region. This was reported by the press service of the regional police.

According to the police, two people died and nine were injured due to the incident.

"The explosion of natural gas without further ignition occurred at about 11:47 a.m. The smoke covered about 200 square meters," police said.

Fire followed after the blast, causing more damage to the infrastructure.
