"At this point, we do not have a date due to the pandemic. I want to be very careful, but I expect that this visit might take place by the end of the first half," said the ambassador.
The official also emphasized the overall magnitude of this event.
"There is a lack of high-level visits between our countries. The last French president to pay an official visit to Ukraine was Jacques Chirac in 1998. It was a long time ago. So there is a clear need for that. There is also a lot of material for this high-level visit," he noted.
As we reported earlier, according to de Poncins, France, as well as other G7 countries, is disappointed with the current state of the fight against corruption in Ukraine.
The diplomat believes that the reasons for the absence of significant results are the presence of interested parties, lack of legal instruments to promote reforms and legal expertise.
