French President Emmanuel Macron plans to hold talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in the near future. During the talks, the issue of Ukraine will be discussed. This was reported by the press service of the Elysee Palace.
The French side notes that Macron, during negotiations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, confirmed France's commitment to "the unity and sovereignty of Ukraine."
At the same time, the French president expressed his determination to fully comply with the Minsk agreements and find a "lasting political solution to the conflict."
"The President of the Republic and President Zelensky also exchanged views with German Chancellor Angela Merkel through a videoconference. They jointly noted that the conclusions of the Paris summit, held on December 9, 2019, remain fully relevant and require Russia to interact with Ukraine to facilitate their implementation. Macron will soon discuss this with President Putin, "the Elysee Palace noted.
