French President Emmanuel Macron believes that the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh cannot be resolved without Russia's participation. He stated this during a press conference in Latvia, "TASS" reports.

He plans to discuss the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh with the Presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.

“This topic is being dealt with by an international competent group of mediators - the Minsk Group, which includes France, Russia and the United States. We have been in contact with our partners from the first hours at the level of foreign ministers and at my level. Tonight I will have a telephone conversation with Putin. and tomorrow on this issue - with Trump. This will allow us to exchange views and propose a solution to the problem," Macron said.

The French President added that the lack of dialogue between Europe and Russia on disarmament issues was a mistake.

"Previously, we delegated NATO to structure our relations with Russia. Now we have come to a point where we ourselves must strengthen these relations. This does not mean abandoning transatlantic ties, but will allow Europe to independently advance in relations with Russia," Macron said.
