‘French President Emmanuel Macron will meet German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin on Nov. 18 to discuss the implementation of the so-called Meseberg Eurozone reform proposal agreed in June, the Elysee Palace said on Friday,’ reads the message.
Prior to the meeting, Merkel will also have a discussion with the Bundestag lower house.
The EU reform, which was negotiated between Merkel and Macron during the previous meeting in June 2018 has the goal of settling migration, introducing new financial mechanisms for the eurozone and creating a regular European defense structure.
Earlier, Angela Merkel paid the official visit to Ukraine. She met with President Petro Poroshenko, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman and the leaders of the political parties' parliamentary factions. During the visit, the parties discussed some critical issues, including the prolongation of anti-Russian sanctions, the construction of the Nord Stream 2 and elections in the occupied territories of Donbas.
