The Belgian francophone television channel RTBF released the survey data regarding the first round of the presidential elections in France.
According to the French poll at the exit polling stations, former French finance minister Emmanuel Macron and leader of the far-right party National Front Marin Le Pen are leaders of the first round.
24% of survey participants voted for Macron, and 22% - for Le Pen.
In favor of the candidate from the Republicans party Francois Fillon voted 20.5% of respondents, for the leader of the Left Party Jean-Luc Melancheon - 18%.
Earlier we reported more than 66.5 thousand polling sites were opened for voting in the first election round in the country at 8 a.m. local time (9 a.m. Kyiv time). Most of the stations will be closed at 7 p.m. local time (8 p.m. Kyiv), however some of them will stay until 8 p.m. in a number of cities.
45.67 million voters are registered on the French territory and 1.3 million of French people living abroad.
Voting in French overseas departments took place on Friday.
