Russia should show it is capable of constructive dialogue on the negotiations regarding the solution of Donbas conflict. Heiko Maas, German Foreign Minister said so before his visit to Moscow; during it, he is to meet his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov.
"Hope for the light at the end of the tunnel is finally here in such questions as the ceasefire mode, forces withdrawal and the implementation of Minsk agreements. Now all sides have to show readiness for the dialogue and the actions, otherwise people will keep dying in this conflict", Maas said.
As for his visit to Russia and the current status of Russian-German relations, the minister admitted that Moscow and Berlin have principal differences in their views in many areas.
"We should be talking about it, since the result can only be reached if Moscow is involved in important international topics", the German official said. That, according to him, requires direct negotiations and explicit dialogue.
