“The officers of the Security Service of Ukraine have unmasked the commercial structure, which owned the databases and range of information of the state establishments, military units and enterprises of Lviv region through the software “Parus” and “Afina” banned in Ukraine and put on the sanctions lists in accordance with the order of President,” the SBU noted.
It is known that the entrepreneurs legally served the software of the establishments. However, during the carrying out of their work, they installed the banned Russian programs “Parus” and “Afina” for the copying of the information. Exactly through these programs, they could get an access to the information and telecommunication systems of more than a hundred of the state and military establishments as well as enterprises and organizations.
The SBU officers succeeded to establish that the suspects copied the data through remote control program TeamViewer. Besides, the databases of the state and military establishments of Lviv region were found.
The software “Parus” and “Afina” banned in Ukraine is spread and updated from the servers situated in Russia. The SBU reports that Russia has access to the secret information through these programs and it can use it to harm the national security of Ukraine.
At the moment, the SBU officers along with the prosecutor’s office check the version of the pass of the illegally copied data to the Russian special services.
